This guide will help determine the correct lamp wattage and fixture capacity to meet NFPA 101
requirements for a particular installation. The data presented in the bottom panel is a model of the POINT BY POINT
illumination in foot candles actually reaching the floor and is a much more accurate representation of fixture performance than a lamp
isofootcandle distribution curve.
Start by selecting the desired Path of Egress width and length of fixture coverage from the
buttons on the left. Select a mounting height and mounting configuration, ceiling or wall.
Further refine your mounting choice from the buttons in the top panel. A range of fixture options
will be presented to meet these conditions. Select a model from the RED button and a chart of the
fixture light output will appear in the bottom panel. A PDF version of this data may be downloaded.
This data is valid only for the unique combination of
lamp placement, door angles, direct and reflected illumination found in the Evenlite Mirrorlite Emergency
Lighting System and will NOT BE VALID for any other manufacturer's emergency lighting unit. The data
is obtained by actual fixture measurements and mathematical models. Field measurements reading lower may be due to
the errors present in cosine corrected light meters when measuring
shallow angles. To verify a measurement's accuracy, take the reading with the face of the
meter probe perpendicular to the light beam axis and multiply by the sine of the beam angle to the floor.
This application guide is provided as an aid for selecting the correct Evenlite
Mirrorlite to cover a specified path of egress. No proof of compliance is provided by this data due
to variations in site conditions and installation. Proper compliance with NFPA 101 should be verified at
the site.
